Caption: Looking westwards along the ridge formed by the dyke-like body of dolerite, which runs along the line of the Wallstale Fault, and connects the outcrop of the Stirling Sill at Sauchie Craig to that of Gillies Hill.
Description: The ridge 100-200 ft. wide coincides with the Wallstale Fault, it is taken to be the topographic expression of the dyke-like transgressive igneous body that has been intruded along the plane of the fault. The valley where the Bannock Burn cuts the Stirling Sill is a glacial drinage channel. The photograph is taken from about 61 m. west of Wallstale Farm, Stirlingshire. (See also D00026.)
