Description: View from Glac Mhor across Bloody Bay, Mull, Argyllshire. Cliffs of Tertiary plateau basalt overlying Jurassic strata and Tertiary sandstones under scree. Mull has the thickest and most complete succession of Tertiary lavas in Scotland. Of the 1800 metres that are preserved the lavas forming the cliff in the photograph represent the lowest that were erupted onto the Jurassic and rare early Tertiary sandstone topography that is hidden beneath the scree slopes.
