Description: | Looking west-south-west from South Mains, 6.4 km. east-south-east of Stirling, Stirlingshire. Plain of the Carse or 50 ft. raised beach. On the left is the birch-clad western end of Easter Moss (peat-moss) overlying the fertile Carse plain. The peat-moss formerly extended over the whole of the clay plain of the Carse, but has been largely cleared away. The denuded margin of the '100 ft.' raised beach is seen in the distance. |
