Description: | Bankhall, near Cowie, 6.4 km. south-east of Stirling, looking south-west, Stirlingshire. The denuded margin of '100 ft.' raised beach. Note the hayricks. In the foreground is the Carse or 50 ft. raised beach (arable, clays). The steep bank among the trees was cut by the 50 ft. beach in sandy boulder clay which forms the foundation of the '100 ft.' beach beneath its capping of sand and gravel. |
