St. Ninian's can be seen in the background Valley eroded in deposits of the '100 ft.' raised beach and underlying boulder clay, by stream issuing on the 50 ft. raised beach plain. Behind the '100 ft.' flat are seen first the rolling boulder clay plateau then the wooded dip-slope of the Stirling dolerite sill, and in far distance the moorland of Calciferous Sandstone lavas.
