Description: About 0.3 km. east of the summit of Barr Wood Hill, 6.4 km. south of Stirling, looking south-east, Stirlingshire. A view across the dip-slope of a Carboniferous dolerite sill. Intersection of two series of large rock-grooves in the dip-slope of a dolerite sill. Members of the two series, orientated north-north-west and west-north-west, respectively, intersect like an X in the middle of the picture and continue to right and left behind the observer. In distance, on left, Torwood (wooded Millstone Grit), on the right is the valley of the River Carron near Denny.
