| Additional information: | From Collection E: Slides cut by William Hill Darker . Mr. Darker, of No. 9, Paradise Street, Lambeth was specialist microscopic slide maker, active in the 1830s to 1850s. Much of the material relates to English coalfield and is connected to Binney suggesting dates from the late 1830s to early 1840s for the material. Other slides represent London Clay material and specimens from the Caribbean. Slides from the English coal measures by Joseph Hooker in 1846. |
