Description: Little Colonsay on left and Treshnish Isles, Bac Mor and Lunga on the horizon, off west coast of Mull, Argyllshire. The obvious terraced features on the offshore islands are erosion notches at the base of cliffs behind the 'pre-glacial' High Rock Platform, now at a level of 30 m. (100 ft.) above sea level. The High Rock Platform is very well displayed in the Inner Hebriodes area and, from the striations and glacial deposits found in places, was originally thought to be pre-glacial in origin. Current views are less certain and it may be interglacial in date.
