Description: Unconformity on shore, 0.4 km. west of Gylen Castle, at the south end of the island of Kerrera, Oban, Argyllshire. This is the basal breccia of the Lower Devonian (Lower Old Red Sandstone), resting unconformably on steeply inclined slates and limestones of the Easdale Subgroup, Argyll Group, Dalradian Supergroup. The breccia contains rounded and angular fragments of the underlying Dalradian and probably represents a fossil scree deposit.
