Description: Gorge in the Mouse Water below Cleghorn Bridge, 2.4 km. north-east of Lanark, Lanarkshire. Lower Old Red Sandstone rocks of continental facies. Brown micaceous sandstones of Lower Old Red Sandstone (Devonian) age dipping upstream at about 18 degrees and giving rise to a succession of waterfalls in the process of cutting back the gorge.
