Description: | The Mouse Water at Jerviswood, about 1.5 km. north of Lanark. Lower Old Red Sandstone outcropping in the gorge. A woman in period dress sits on some driftwood. In foreground - brown micaceous sandstones of Lower Old Red Sandstone age dipping southwards and striking obliquely across the stream, giving rise to 'water-slide'. A fault intervening between these rocks, and similar rocks at the waterfall is seen on the cliff face to right. |
