Description: | Morrich More, 4.9 km. north-east of Tain, Ross & Cromarty. Sand advancing through wind-eroded temporarily fixed dunes. A close-up of the dune front seen in photograph C1953. Note the steep advancing slope and the size of the dune compared with the standing figure. Note also the first signs of vegetation (probably Marram) colonizing the moving dune, eventually this will help stabilize it. |
