Description: Morrich More, 4.9 km. north-east of Tain, Ross & Cromarty. Sand advancing through wind-eroded temporarily fixed dunes. A close-up view. Note the person for scale. The height of the sand ridges can reach over 14 metres, they can have exceptionally steep slopes in excess of 30 degrees and are still travelling eastwards as they have done since the Flandrian, for c. 7000 years. They are vegetated with Marram.
