Description: Glen Croe, 3.2 km. west of Arrochar, Argyllshire. Looking east. Landslip in drift. Foot of landslip of morainic drift material crossing the road and obstructing the stream (seen at 'x' ), causing a large pool to form above. This is a common consequence of landslips in mountainous country where the slumped material forms a natural dam across the valley. The road in foreground (snow-covered) is now the A83, Arrochar to Inveraray trunk road. Steep slopes, high rainfall and unconsolidated material are a combination likely to lead to landslips, as here.
