Description: | Glen Croe, 3.2 km. west of Arrochar, Argyllshire. Looking west. Landslip in drift. Foot of landslip of morainic drift crossing road and encroaching on stream on left. The road in foreground (now the A83, Arrochar to Inveraray trunk road) is covered to a considerable depth with silt washed out of the landslip material. Ben Donich is the snow-covered peak in the centre skyline. The steep slope on the left is the northern side of The Brack. Steep slopes, high rainfall and unconsolidated material are a combination likely to lead to landslips, as here. |
