Caption: Carn Mor Dearg (1223 m.), 1.6 km. north-east of Ben Nevis, Inverness-shire.
Description: The mountain in the distance on right is formed of the 'Outer Granite of Ben Nevis'. The arete between the corries shows the breaking up of the rock by 'freeze-thaw', the splintering action of frost and the formation of scree slopes as the loosen blocks fall down the slope and collect as the slope decreases in angle. A mountain formed of the 'Inner Granite of Ben Nevis' and showing the development of scree slopes and on the right, an arete. The valley to the left is the Allt a' Mhuilinn. Part of a panorama with C01787. The description is for the whole panorama.
