Description: | River Beauly at Kilmorack, 4.0 km. south-west of Beauly, Ross & Cromarty. Gorge in Old Red Sandstone conglomerate. The gorge has formed in postglacial times. Note how the river has smoothed the rock walls of the gorge. This is due to the massive nature of the bedding and the lack of joints. |
