Description: View looking north from near Kintraw, head of Loch Craignish, Argyllshire. Characteristic scenery of the country north of Kilmartin. Steep hills formed of Dalradian pebbly quartzites and epidiorite (a metamorphosed igneous rock associated with the Caledonian Orogeny). The hollows are floored by limestone and black slates slightly older than the quartzites but still of Dalradian Supergroup age. Bedding and cleavage dip at high angles from left to right.
