Description: Small and Hayes' Quarry, Ballymakeonan, Townland 1400 yd. N. 55 1/2 degrees E. of Magheralin Church. Looking NE. Quarry in the Upper Chalk near Moira, Co. Down. 18 ft. wide basalt dyke transecting Upper Chalk (Senonian) with flints. Hardened chalk on the dyke margins is left in crests by quarrying activity. Field surface in upper right background approximates to the dip-slope of the Chalk and the slight rise in upper left background marks the edge of the overlying Tertiary basalts.
