Description: Annadale embankment, Belfast. Looking NW. The Chalk-basalt scarp north-west of Belfast. The photograph is taken from a meander of the River Lagan and much of the picture is filled with flood plain of that river. In the light part of the scarp towards the left margin a white slip-scarp of Chalk can just be discerned. The ground above this is occupied by the Lower Basalts.
