In this exposure about 16 ft. of blue Lias shales are overlain by 8. ft. of greenish-black glauconitic sand or sand-rock - the basalt beds of the Cretaceous formation. The bottom 12 in. contains lydites and these are mainly concentrated in the bottom 2-3 in. where the matrix is clayey. |
