Description: Near 'The Shin', Langwell Water, Caithness. River terraces of erosion in till. Two river terraces above level of present-day alluvial plain are well developed in low ground in front of trees. Behind, lower ground covered by trees and extending to the base of the steep hill to the right, and up the valley to the left, is underlain by till and/or moundy glacial deposits, which have been eroded by the river. Braigh na h-Eaglaise, the hill to the right, is made of metamorphosed sandstones of the Kildonan Psammite Formation (Moine Supergroup).
