Conspicuous bluff of glaciofluvial sand and gravel on right overlies till. The other grassy bluffs are made of till. Note wide, alluvium-covered valley within gorge, with postglacial river terraces locally developed. Bedrock is flaggy siltstone of Mey Flagstone Formation (Caithness Flagstone Group, Middle Devonian). |
