Description: Mouth of the Lairig Ghru, 8 km. south-south-east of Aviemore, Inverness-shire. Looking west. Crescentiform moraine at mouth of glen, the convexity pointing up the valley. Glaciofluvial terraces in foregound. Flat-topped terraces of glaciofluvial sand and gravel in foreground on both sides of river which has cut through them. Irregular, hummocky moraine extends up hill to left (pale-coloured low ridge), possibly marking limit of valley glacier. Hill on left (Carn Odhar) is made of biotite granite of the Cairngorm pluton.
