Description: Looking up Gleann Beag, from Deanich Lodge, Ross & Cromarty. Silted-up glacial lake and overdeepened valley with spurs cut away, due to glaciation. Flat floor of valley filled with alluvial deposits, possibly laid down in a postglacial lake. On either side, projecting spurs have been eroded away and the valley converted to a U-profile by action of a valley glacier. Broadening of valley more pronounced than in Gleann Mor, downstream from this locality (see photo C00181). Some exposures of Moine Supergroup metasediments occur on valley sides. Lodge built on mound of moundy morainic material and confluence of minor stream.
