Description: Kirkby Bank, near Carlton. Looking ESE. Northern scarp of the Cleveland Hills showing Middle Jurassic sandstones. The lowest bed overlies Alum Shales (Upper Lias). The highest sandstones overlies the Ellerbeck Formation. The bottom two sandstones come together as the eastern edge of the bank.
