Description: Loch Coire an Lochain, Braeriach, Cairngorms, Inverness-shire. High-level corrie lochan (elevation 990 m.), beneath granite cliffs and screes. North-facing corrie retains snow very late, sometimes all summer. Note intense frost-shattering of rocks on back wall of corrie and abundant granite scree below rock exposures. Small craggy granite outcrop above cliffs is part of high plateau leading up to summit of Braeriach (1296 m.). All outcrops are of coarse-grained porphyritic granite of Cairngorm Main Granite.
