Description: Near Aoineadh Dubh, north of Loch Tarbert, west coast of Jura, Argyllshire. Shingle of high raised beaches running up to a height of 34 m. above O.D. Large area of shingle above upper cliff is part of late-glacial raised beach, reaching 34 m. above O.D. On left are deposits of postglacial raised beach, rarely exceeding 14 m. above O.D. Between the two is a pronounced escarpment, exposing Jura Quartzite (Islay Subgroup, Argyll Group, Dalradian Supergroup), which dips to the east (right) at c. 20 degrees.
