Description: Brein Phort, north of Ruantallain, Loch Tarbert, west coast of Jura, Argyllshire. Shingle of postglacial raised beach in foreground and of late-glacial raised beach at top of cliff. Lower platform is postglacial raised beach, averaging c. 14 m. above O.D. on Jura. Note driftwood which indicates that it is affected by present-day storms. Above prominent scarp of Jura Quartzite is late-glacial raised beach, at an altitude of c. 34 m. above O.D. Note extensive shingle covering this platform.
