Description: Traigh nam Feannag, 1 km. north of Inver Cottage, south-west coast of Jura, Argyllshire. Shingle of postglacial raised beach continuous with that of modern beach. Bedrock in foreground is Jura Quartzite (Islay Subgroup, Argyll Group, Dalradian Supergroup). Palaeocene dolerite dyke forms linear feature where shingle lines are displaced in middle ground. Permo-Carboniferous quartz dolerite dyke intrudes Jura Quartzite on promontory at far end of beach. In distance is island of Islay. Present-day storm beach extends all round bay. In middle distance shingle of postglacial raised beach, c. 14 m. above O.D., is only partly separated from back of present-day beach.
