Description: The Gegan, 5 km. east of North Berwick, East Lothian. Characteristic weathering of bedded tuffs. Bedded basaltic tuffs of the Garleton Hills Volcanic Formation (Strathclyde Group, Visean). Note steepness of cliff, and relatively poor jointing. In foreground is marine erosion platform, with tuffs dipping at c.10 degrees to the left, overlain by abundant scattered boulders of tuff. Cliffs in distance on either side of ruined house (Auldhame) also made of tuff.
