Description: The Gegan, 5 km. east of North Berwick, East Lothian. Rock-platform of recent marine erosion cut out of bedded tuffs. Bedded basaltic tuffs of the Garleton Hills Volcanic Formation (Strathclyde Group, Visean). Note steepness of cliff, and relatively poor jointing. In foreground is marine erosion platform, with tuffs dipping at 5-10 degrees to the right, overlain by abundant scattered boulders of tuff. Note small sailing ship in far left distance.
