Description: Garleton Hills, Haddington, East Lothian. Looking south-west. Hills of trachyte and basalt lava. Hills formed of lavas of the Garleton Hills Volcanic Formation (Strathclyde Group, Visean). Foreground and lower, rounded slopes of hills made of trachyte. Upper slopes, showing trap features, are made of thin capping of basalt lava, in which the centres of flows tend to be more resistant to erosion.
