Description: Wyresdale Tunnel (Lune-Wyre Link) SE of Lancaster, 690 m. from the Abbeystead Portal. Neptunean sandstone dyke in silty mudstone. The subvertical dyke of fine to medium-grained sandstone cuts gently-dipping silty mudstones. The dyke averages 7 cm. in width, but locally swells to a maximum of 15 cm. The margins of the dyke are weakly corrugated a result of later compaction of the sediments. The hammer shaft = 0.3 m.
