Description: Wyresdale Tunnel (Lune-Wyre Link) SE of Lancaster, 885 m. from the Rowton Portal. Striped siltstone lithology. Typical well-bedded striped siltstones with thin lenses, laminae and ribs of lighter coloured sandstone. A small bedding discordancy is present in the lower part of the photograph. Two rocks are partly obscured by dust on the tunnel wall; notably top right and left centre (above the hammer). The hammer shaft = 0.3 m.
