Description: Wyresdale Tunnel (Lune-Wyre Link) SE of Lancaster, 700 m. from the Rowton Portal. Intraformational slump in interbedded striped siltstones and sandstones. The slump occurs in a 2 m. unit of penecontemporaneously disturbed striped siltstones and interbedded sandstones. The unit of slumped sediments has a discordant base and rests on undisturbed strata (bottom left) that now has a northerly dip. The overlying beds (not in photograph) are also undisturbed. The formational movement of the slump indicates a north-west to south-east palaeoslope. The slump is approximately 1 m. across (measured normal to the axial plane).
