Description: Plashetts Quarry near Falstone. Looking NE. Excavations made during the construction of Kielder Reservoir. The quarrying was primarily for the dolerite of the High Green - Lewisburn Whin dyke (top right). Adjacent sediments (Upper Border Group below the Plashetts Coal horizon) were sufficiently hardened to be used as fill material.
