Description: Old quarry by A52 road about 300 m. SE of Swincoe. Looking SE. Carboniferous Limestone: limestone-pebble conglomerate in the Ecton Limestones of probable Asbian age (D1 Zone). The bed dips steeply towards the right of the photograph and is about 4.2 m. thick. The pebbles or lithoclasts are subangular and rectangular in shape and consist mainly of fine-grained limestone with a fine parallel lamination.
