Description: Godber's Lum Opencast Site, Ripley, Derbyshire. The two face shovels are digging coal from the Roof Soft and Top Soft seams. In the lower part of the back wall are the disturbances shown in photograph L912. The Brown Rake seam is seen (on photo L920) as the lower dark band on the ledge used as access to the drag-line which is standing, approximately, on the horizon of the Clay Cross Marine Band.
