Description: Straiton Caravan Park, Burdiehouse, Edinburgh. Loss of property into a crownhole (sit) 18 - 21 m. across and deep over old stoop and room workings in the Burdiehouse Limestone (Clippens Mine). The hole shown in MNS04513 had been completely filled up with earth and rubbish by the site proprietor a few days before. The infilling had disappeared down into the mine workings and the hole had increased in size to approximately 30 m. across taking with it the road and threatening neighbouring caravans.
