The Head is made of Urswick Limestone dipping at about 20 degrees.The cliffs on its western side, seen in this photograph, are determined by a fault separating the Urswick Limestone exposed in the cliffs from Permo-Triassic rocks (Brockram) exposed close behind the camera position.
