Note the walls coated in fine barite dust from previous drilling. The jackleg is the light bar supporting the jackhammer. The black hose running with the jackleg to the drilling machine is for the compressed air supply. The typical cycle of mining is drilling, blasting, mucking (removal of broken rock) and then ground support (if necessary). |
