Description: | View north of current quarry face within the Cruachan monzodioritic facies of the early Devonian (c. 400 million year old) Etive pluton. Seen here is the clearly defined contact of a microdiorite dyke that cross cuts the Cruachan mozodiorite facies. The dyke has a pronounced fine grained 'chilled' margin against the host granitic rock. |
