Description: Oblique aerial view looking west-south-west from Dykehead to Lake of Menteith and the Trossachs. The Loch Lomond Readvance moraines that are partly responsible for damming the drainage to form the Loch of Menteith are seen to the east (right). Behind the lake are the prominent ridges of the Menteith Hills formed in steeply-dipping Lower Devonian conglomerates and sandstones. Behind lies the Highland Line and the Trossachs with Dalradian metamorphic rocks. Ben Lomond and Loch Ard are seen in the upper valley of the Firth beyond Aberfoyle (upper left) and Ben Venue, Loch Katrine and Loch Venachar to the north (upper right).
