Caption: Oblique aerial view south-east from Arrochymore, Point of Balmaha, Loch Lomond and the Endrick Water delta.
Description: These are faulted down against brecciated, dolomitized serpentinite which forms the subsidiary ridge. The main ridge is formed of steeply south-east dipping Lower Devonian Inchmurrin Conglomerate, also found on Inchcailloch Island to the south-west (right). The Devonian Conglomerate is downfaulted against the serpentinite along the Gualann Fault. Farther south-east its dip decreases rapidly and Quaternary sands and gravels and till dominate. The delta of the Endrick Water is well seen. Looking at the Highland Border from the north-west. The flat agricultural ground below around Arrochymore Farm is underlain by Upper Devonian/Lower Carboniferous red sandstones and pebble beds.
