Caption: | Oblique aerial view looking east to Ben Lomond, Loch Ard and the Midland Valley. |
Description: | Ben Lomond forms a prominent Munro overlooking the Midland Valley. Note on the west flank of Ben Lomond considerable development of scree near the top and down slope. The lower parts have the appearance of protalus ramparts and possibly relate to the Loch Lomond Readvance. Prominent features on its north ridge and that of the Ptarmigan (centre right) reflect the underlying overall bedding and foliation in the Dalradian Ben Ledi Grit Formation which here dips gently to the south-south-east. |
