Caption: | View to north-east from hillside above Loch Lomond of Rubha Mor, Ptarmigan and Ben Lomond. |
Description: | Steeply-dipping (50 to 65 degrees to the south-south-east) beds lie south-west of Rubha Mor (the Steep Belt) whereas to the north-east across Loch Lomond the overall dip of the beds and main fabrics is gently to the south and south-south-east (mainly 5 to 25 degrees - the Flat Belt). The new A82 road cut. The beds are greywacke psammites and semipelites of the Southern Highland Group. Loch Lomond is here a narrow deeply glacially scoured channel extending to over 100 m. below sea level. |
