Description: Looking south-west from the moraine-covered slopes above Culra Lodge to Ben Alder (left centre) and Sgor Iutharn (right). Both mountains are composed of folded Grampian Group psammites and subsidiary semipelites metamophosed to amphibolite facies. The overall dip of the beds becomes steep on Sgor Iutharn (Lancet Edge). Note the north-east and east facing corries on Ben Alder (1148 m. high). The low col between the two is Bealach Dubh, the probable limit of the Loch Lomond Readvance ice sheet.
