Caption: Looking south-west from the Allt a' Chaoil-reidhe by Culra Bothy to Ben Alder, Sgor Iutharn and Geal Charn.
Description: The prominent dip between Ben Alder and Sgor Iutharn (Lancet Edge seen in photograph) is Bealach Dubh - the probable limit of the Loch Lomond Readvance ice sheet. Small corrie glaciers also existed below Ben Alder and Geal Charn. The north-east facing corries of Ben Alder and Geal Charn are almost clear of snow. The mountains are formed of folded, metamorphosed Grampian Group psammites and semipelites.
