Description: The Portsoy coast section, looking west from the cliff path to the west of the Old Harbour. Banffshire. The dark amphibolite in the foreground, and the blue-green serpentinite in the middle distance form the western edge of the Portsoy Intrusion. Between the two are Middle Dalradian sediments of the Portsoy Group; limestone with stratiform sulphides form the rounded white rocks beyond the amphibolite, and a very strongly rodded quartzite forms the stacks beyond this. The old Portsoy marble quarries can be seen at the landward end of the serpentinite.
